We used colour grading in production to ensure the film was gloomy enough for our thriller. The day we filmed was quite bright, so had to change the colour a fair amount to ensure the film was more ominous.
Below are some tests of our colour grading and the various options we had tested out:




However, we felt the orange tint was too heavy and decided to go with a
CONTRAST AND HIGHLIGHTS


We wanted to make the shots more gloomy and dark, to show the ominous mood of the opening.
